The jobs will be created when the national population census will be held.
Commissioner for the 2009 National Population Census, Wellington Piduru, says the jobs will include, seconded officers from the government, district superintendents, area managers, trainers, directors, supervisors and enumerators.
Mr. Piduru says the initial estimates for the national census is about 30-million dollars.
He says so far, only the Republic of China and AusAID have committed themselves to financially support the activity.
But Mr. Piduru says that since the activity has been launched, Census office will now be in a position to discuss the issue with other donor partners and agencies.
He says provisional results should be known by March next year.
Prime Minister Dr. Derek Sikua announced yesterday that the national population census day will be November 23.
