According to the lists of flight bookings pinned up at the National Training Unit, NTU Office, about 300 USP students should have left for Suva on two chartered flights on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

But when SIBC contacted some students this morning, they say the National Training Unit N-T-U deferred their flights due to ongoing renovations to the Students' Halls of Residence at Laucala Campus.

This information was also confirmed to SIBC News by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Myline Kuve.

She says the new flight arrangements will be finalized after confirmation from USP on the time when they are ready to receive the students.

Meanwhile, an officer from the University's Halls of Residence in Suva confirmed to SIBC News today that they are doing repairs and maintenance work to the halls, and work should be completed before 19 February, before formal classes begin on February 22nd.

She said they were expecting the students to arrive on the planned Saturday and Sunday flights.
