The incident occurred when a vehicle travelling south on a Lunga feeder road approached the Taj Mahal road junction and allegedly failed to stop and give way to the main road traffic.

Police Traffic investigators believed that the male driver of the vehicle travelling on the feeder road, drove onto the main road and was consequently hit by another vehicle that was travelling eastward on the main road.

Both the male driver and a 43-year-old female driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries and were taken to the National Referral Hospital for treatment.

The 43-year-old female driver was treated for minor injuries and later discharged.

The male driver who is suspected to have sustained internal injuries remained at the National Referral Hospital for further medical observation.

Police investigation into the incident continues and traffic investigators are expecting to lay charges.
