This Saturday marks the opening event of the 2008 triathlon season. Our Telekom is sponsoring the first four month of the race.
Last year's Triathlon Solomon Islands Vice President Maxon Ala is a strong believer in the power of sport. One of last year's four representatives at the South Pacific Games, Ala says triathlon is not about how good you are, its about getting involved."
"This year I encourage women and men, young and old, who are interested in getting fit and healthy and learning new skills like swimming, running and cycling to come down and join us," Ala said.
Our Telekom representative Christina Lasaqa is delighted to again be supporting Solomon Islands newest and fastest growing sport.
"After sponsoring some successful triathlon events last year, Our Telekom is again very happy to be associated with a community of enthusiastic Solomon Islanders and expatriates," said Mrs. Lasaqa.
Triathlon Makes A Splash In 2008
Kakabona Beach, in the Western end of Honiara, will again see a good number of people swimming, cycling and running.
