Chris Fox Tavake from Temotu was charged with one count of murder.
He has since been remanded by the prosecution on the basis of the seriousness of the offence and the likelihood of interference with prosecution witnesses.
Police investigation, however is still underway over the incident.
The matter will appear again before the Court on November 14th.

A man from the Temotu Province has been arrested and charged for murder over the body found floating in Mataniko River last week.
