Our Telekom public relations officer Christina Lasaqa told journalists that Our Telekom is sponsoring popular sports because they want to maximize their gain through such sponsorship.
Our Telekom has allocated around 1.5 million to fund major soccer programs for 2007. Most notable funding is directed towards assisting the National Senior Men's team in its preparation for the Pacific games worth around SBD$939-thousand. The money will go towards uniforms, equipment and Development (tours etc).
Around 262-thousand dollars will go towards the Solomon Cup. This should cover the Prizes and Trophies, Transportation, Accommodation and Meals.
Another 285-thousand dollars is allocated towards the national club championship which will be held at the end of this month.

Our telekom has embarked on a major sponsorship drive that ensures that popular sports such as the Netball and soccer are supported financially.
