The Embassy says the donation ceremony will be hosted by Ambassador George Chan after he finishes his personal leave and comes back from Taiwan this weekend.
Charge D'affaires of Taiwan Embassy, Ben Wang last week paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Derek Sikua and extended the people and government of Taiwan deepest condolences and sympathy to the people and families in the affected areas.
Mr Wang says that the "pain people feel at the moment caused by the national disaster is shared by his government and people because Taiwan was devastated by Typhoon Morakot last August."
He says the people of Taiwan appreciate the help and condolences from people and government of Solomon Islands during their difficult time last year.
Mr Wang says to demonstrate the friendship and close relations between the two countries, Taiwan Government is providing the humanitarian donation as part of the earthquake relief effort.
Prime Minister Sikua extends his personal gratitude to Mr Wang on behalf of Solomon Islands for the condolence message and promised humanitarian donation from Taiwan Government.
Taiwan to Assist in Recovery Efforts
Taiwan Embassy says the Taiwanese government is to donate 300,000 dollars to help victims of the recent earthquakes in the Western Province.
