Ambassador Chan stated that the revival of the cattle industry would see Solomon Islanders consume beef produced in their own country in the near future.
"The funding will enable rural dwellers to partake in development by running their own cattle projects and thus will improve their livelihoods and as well boost the national economy," Mr Sogavare and Ambassador Chan said.
Prime Minister Sogavare and Ambassador Chan said the fund would sustain the Solomon Islands cattle rehabilitation programme.
Mr Sogavare thanked the Taiwanese government for the prompt release of funds for the significant project.
He said the assistance was symbolic of Solomon Islands close and cordial relationship with Taiwan.
