SPC Director-General, Dr. Jimmie Rodgers, said the SPC will channel between forty to fifty million Solomon dollars annually over the next three to four years.
He said the support will help government address the challenges posed, in particular by Malaria, Tuberculosis, HIV and AIDS and Non-Communicable Diseases.
Dr. Rodgers highlighted that while SPC will be providing Solomon Islands "the very high level of financial assistance", SPC is not a funding agency.
The substantial financial injection SPC will be making to the Solomons health sector is supported by development partners.
The SPC Director-General, Dr. Rodgers is currently in the country to officially establish the first in-country SPC office, launched yesterday in Honiara.
Dr. Rodgers will be having meetings with government officials today including the Speaker of the Solomon Islands Parliament, Sir Peter Kenilorea, before leaving the country tomorrow.
