The Adolescent Development Assistant Project Officer UNICEF, Mr. Steve Maitani, left Solomon Islands yesterday to represent the country.
Mr. Maitani told the Solomon Times that as a participant among Pacific Advocators of AHD, "we will also present our activities for this year and to plan related activities for 2008".
"Some scope of my duties is to co-work with AHD and other relevant stakeholders and volunteers to share relevant skills and information," he added.
The UNICEF Pacific Solomon Islands works in partnership counterparts, government and non-government organisations and communities in the area of Adolescent Development.
"This includes work in the area of life skills and HIV prevention for young people, and women of child bearing age," said Mr. Maitani.
While in Fiji, Mr. Maitani will also be working with the government and non government counterparts to develop frameworks that promote meaningful youth and child participation.
"And to improve the development and implementation of adolescent development programs," he added.
Solomons Participate in Adolescent Health Development Program
An Adolescent Health Development program is currentlybeing held in Nadi, Fiji which is mainly focusing on development in adolescent.
