Reports from the TARD Blog stated that money raise will go towards the tsunami rehabilitation efforts in the Western and Choiseul Provinces.
The TARD Blog reported that the students raised the funds during a four hour dinner and cultural entertainment hosted on April 21.
The blog says the fundraising was well supported by all the various cultural groups affiliated to SISA. A full report will be presented by the committee to the student body on Sunday May 27th, during a combine service for Solomon Islands students studying in various institutions in Suva.
It has been suggested by the committee that the money will be used towards the purchase of educational materials for the children affected by the disaster. However a final decision is yet to be made.
