Radio New Zealand International website reports Sir Allan as stating an outcome on an appeal lodged against his conviction in September is pending.
Sir Allan is further quoted as stating he plans to remain in politics in the long term.
"In 2010 certainly I'm going to contest in my constituency, in the meantime, I'm not sure, I leave that to my lawyers to deal with," Sir Allan is quoted as saying.
Sir Allan has just completed a jail sentence, having been jailed for six months for a 2002 attack on a Honiara law firm.
The Speaker of parliament, Sir Peter Kenilorea, has said that Sir Allan has ceased to be a member of parliament following his conviction and jail sentence.
