This was following reports that sex crime cases are increasing in the country.
Mr. Marshall informed the media that compared to a few years ago, more people today are more confident to report sex related crimes in their communities.
This may have been the reason why people think that sex related crimes are on the increase. Otherwise, the amount of sex crime cases remains the same.
According to Mr. Marshall, the reporting of sex crime by communities mean that the Police have alot of support from them and any form of criminal activity could be dealt with accordingly in a timely manner.
Mr. Marshall in conclusion stated that the Solomon Islands Police Force (SIPF) and their RAMSI counterparts are working closely with NGOs in the country to tackle such issues.

Acting Police Commissioner, Peter Marshall stated in the Police Press Conference yesterday that the rate of sex crimes in the country is not on the increase.
