A senior member of the Royal Solomon Islands Police has been remanded in custody late yesterday on incest charges.
The Court heard that the officer has been a member of the RSIPF for 30 years and was working with the force's Sexual Assault Unit when he was arrested.
The accused, who could not be named to protect the identity of the victims, is charged with two counts of indecent assault and one count of rape.
He allegedly committed the offences between 2005 and 2010.
According to the Police records the victims are his step-daughters aged 14 and 10.
Chief Magistrate Leonard Maina remanded him in custody due to the seriousness of the charges and because investigations are still continuing into the case.
The accused will appear again in Court on the 17th of this month.
