This was stated by the Acting Police Commissioner, Mr. Walter Kola.
The search was called off after a day's search conducted in the areas she was believed to have been missing.
Mr.Kola mentioned that with the search being call off, "we will now listen out for any sightings of the child by the public."
He stated that the search was called off on the assumption by investigators that if she had been lost from the place she was reported to have been last seen, "her body if she had died through drowning would have been found."
The police are now calling on the public to help them with any information regarding the missing child.
