Commissioner Marshall said that the after hours call out system, is now capable of getting out up to one hundred and twenty police staff within short notice ranging from fifteen to twenty minutes.

He said that if there were any trouble anywhere within the Honiara city, the Solomon Islands Police is now capable of calling out up to one hundred twenty police officers, within 15 to 20 minutes.

By international standards, he said, it was a very good response capability.

"Certainly you cannot do that in major cities around Australasia. So within 15 to 20 minutes, we can get over a hundred Solomon Islands Police force personnel who are ready to respond to any issue whatsoever. And this is a call out system which we have developed around the Rove Police Headquarters building," said Marshall.

Meanwhile, Marshall has expressed satisfaction about the way Solomon Islands Police force officers carried out their duties during last week's tour of Honiara by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Commissioner Marshall said that during the Royal visit, Solomon Islands Police officers were involved in a range of activities relating to the Royal motorcade, venue security, and the ceremonial and obligations at Lawson Tama.

"I am very pleased with the way that the Solomon Islands police were able to undertake their obligations in a very professional manner. And indeed I had a number of compliments from the personal protection officers from the UK. They were very impressed with the way police officers went about their duties in the manner they did," said Marshall.
