Acting Director National Examination and Standard Unit, Kathleen Sikapu sought the assistance of RAMSI on behalf of the Chief Education Officer Guadalcanal Province in order that the exam papers could be delivered to the School Principal today.
Kathleen Sikapu said the examination papers for 53 students at Avu Avu Provincial Secondary School were to be transported by a commercial flight over the weekend but unfortunately the flight was cancelled.
"We are thankful to RASMI for stepping in to assist us in our last minute request. The two-week long examination was planned to begin in all schools across the nation today. The Solomon Islands School Certificate is for form students. Due to the delay APSS will start their exam on Tuesday," says Kathleen.
Receiving the examination papers on behalf of RAMSI the PPF Acting Provincial Coordinator Michelle Harris says where possible RAMSI is happy to be of assistance to the local community.
The Avu Avu students commenced their examinations today.
