Sir Nathaniel made the announcement yesterday through the national broadcaster, SIBC.
John Selwyn Saunana was awarded the Order of the British Empire Civil Division medal, to be an Officer of the British Empire, OBE, for services to politics and public administration. Mrs Isabel Beck was awarded an MBE medal for services to the church and the community.
Three others were awarded the Member of the British Empire, MBE, and medal.
Dr Obed Alemaena received the award for services in the field of medicine and Sergeant Leonard Kwai for services to the Police Force and for bravery.

The Governor General Sir Nathaniel Waena has officially announced the names of the recipients of this years Queen's Birthday Awards.
