Deputy Police Commissioner Walter Kola says there are major events coming up over the next few days, which requires vigilance from the police to maintain law and order.
These include the soccer match on Saturday between Auckland City and Koloale Football clubs, the arrival of the retired South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu on Tuesday for the launch of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and ANZAC day on Saturday morning.
He says the presence of the retired South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the launch of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission at the national parliament building is an event that will need to maintain order, with the anticipated hundreds expected to attend.
Mr Kola says the Police will also deploy additional 100 officers during the match between Koloale FC and Auckland FC to make sure no drunkards are allowed into the field and to make sure order is maintained.
Mr Kola says that during the ANZAC day dawn service on Saturday morning, alot of vehicle will be parked along the highway, drivers are urged to drive slowly when using the highway that morning.
