The operating company of the estate belonging to Patrick Wong has threatened to liquidate the Yandina-based company.
According to the Prime Minister's Press Secretary, Alfred Sasako, Prime Minister Philip and his delegation left Honiara for Yandina early Saturday morning and have spent the weekend there meeting with Yandina chiefs, landowners and workers of the Yandina plantations.
Sasako says the Prime Minister's weekend visit to Yandina is built on prior discussions of a government committee with the investors of the Yandina based RIPEL estate.
SIBC News understands the Prime Minister is being accompanied by his Special Secretary, Andrew Muaki, the Forestry Minister Bradley Tovusia and other senior government officials.
