In his Christmas address to the nation last week, Dr. Sikua said ensuring sustainable and long-term peace is a collective responsibility of everyone.
Dr Sikua said his government will continue to do its part in helping to improve the livelihoods of the people and try to achieve the country's development aspirations.
He appealed to Solomon Islanders to play their part and contribute to achieving this noble and honourable goal.

Solomon Islands' Prime Minister, Dr. Derek Sikua, reiterates that peace and reconciliation will continue to be his government's number one priority in 2009.
