The bank made the announcement yesterday, reminding people of the remaining two months for the usage of the old coins. After the deadline, only the new coins will be allowed into the circulation.
The public are encouraged to bank old coins or exchange them for new ones before the 31st of December 2012 deadline.
Central Bank's public relations officer, Uriel Matanani says the Bank encourages business houses and traders to slowly take away the old coins from circulation by only giving out new coins as change.
He says customers must also insist on receiving new coins as change.
