In handing over the equipment, the Technical Advisor for the Provincial Governance Strengthening Program, under the Ministry of Provincial Government, David Hamilton, said that the donors are happy to lend support especially for provincial development.
The radio was received by the Premier of Guadalcanal, Mr. Stephen Panga on behalf of Mr. Samson Juru, the Honorable member for Vulolo Ward.
Solomon Times spoke to Mr. Juru who stated that he was happy to have received a full set of radio for his Ward.
"The improved communication services will enable our local nurses to communicate with the National Referral Hospital, especially on the cases of emergencies," he said.
He stressed that the good use of the equipment comes back to "the hands of our people to take good care of the radio and put it in good use."
New Clinic Receives Radio
The Mataga Clinic in Central Guadalcanal, one of the first implemented project of the Guadalcanal Province, received one set of two way radio including a solar panel.
