On Saturday morning around 6:00am, a white ray boat powered by a 55- Horsepower engine left Lata with seven men bound for Vanikoro Island. However, up until Sunday, the boat failed to arrive at its destination.
Police are appealing to people living around South and South East of Vanikoro and Utupua Islands to alert Police of any sightings of the missing white ray boat.
The search, now in its third day, is still hopeful that the men are alive.
Vanikoro Islands is an island group in the Santa Cruz Islands, located 118 km to the Southeast of the main Santa Cruz group. These islands belong administratively to the Temotu Province of the Solomon Islands.
Missing Boat Yet to be Found
Police in Lata have launched a search for seven adult men who have been missing since Saturday.
