MET Service Issues Heavy Rain Warning
The meteorological service (MET) has issued a heavy rain warning for parts of Solomon Islands at 7pm this evening.

The heavy rain warning is current for Malaita, Guadalcanal, Makira, Temotu and Rennell Bellona provinces.
The MET service advice that a convergence zone lies over the Solomon Islands, which will result in heavy rain and thunderstorms.
They also advise that such localized heavy rain may lead to flash flooding and landslides over communities living near large rivers or streams and near hill slopes.
Sea travellers are also advised to take precautionary measures and avoid taking unnecessary risks during such weather conditions.
Solomon Water is encouraging Honiara residents to store water, in the event that water supply is shut off due to turbidity levels.
