The theme of the Committee's mission "Looking beyond the waves" highlights the need for practical assistance from fellow Solomon Islanders says the Committee Chairman and Lord Mayor Alfred Maetia.
"An important first step is providing facilities required for rehabilitation in both Western and Choiseul Provinces" Mr Maetia said.
Mr Maetia went to say that other projects will be determined through consultation with the provincial government of the Western and Choiseul provinces.
The first major activity of the group is a live Music Concert to be held in Honiara.
Malaitans assist in rehabilitation efforts
With strong support from their Premier, concerned Malaitans have formed a committee to raise funds to support tsunami stricken areas of Western and Choiseul Province.
