CBSI strongly warns the general public to properly check the security features on Solomon Islands bank-notes, particularly the high value denominations before accepting them for payments.
The warning was issued following the recent discovery of counterfeit 50 dollar notes by various business individuals and banks in Honiara.
The Central Bank says most of the confiscated counterfeits bear the serial number A/25 817108.
The Bank believes a computer scanner or a highly sensitive colour photocopier may have been used to produce the counterfeit notes.
