Secretary of the Commission of Inquiry into land dealing on Guadalcanal Chris Waiwori says the report is an important and historical document.
Copies of the report were returned to Solomon Islands recently from the Australian National University under arrangements with the Australian High Commission in Honiara.
Copies of the report, entitled "Report of the Special Lands Commission, Customary Land Tenure in the British Solomon Islands Protectorate" were also donated to various libraries in Honiara.
He says that according to the report, a memorandum was established in 1951 which included a terms of reference of a Special Lands Commission.
Mr Waiwori says the terms of reference of the report are important to help the commission of inquiry into land dealings on Guadalcanal.
He thanks the Australian National University through the Australian High Commission in Honiara for providing the Commission of Inquiry with the report.
