Seven people have been charged.
Police says the seizure is the biggest this year.
The operation involved over 100 officers from the Royal Solomon Islands Police, RAMSI Participating Police Force and RAMSI military.
Five search warrants were executed simultaneously by police on dwellings in the Koa Hill area and Kwaso, cooking utensils and equipment used to manufacture the illegal alcohol was seized by police and taken to Central Police Station.
Acting Director of National CID, Silas Karani, explained that the operation was very successful and police will continue to target people making kwaso.
He says the amount was enough to produce 5000 individual bottles and some of the kwaso seized was ready to be sold on the street.
"The operation was very successful and I am pleased to say that this illegal alcohol will not be making its way on to our streets or into our markets.
The seven people were charged under the Liquor Act with selling liquor without a licence, making liquor without a licence and possessing liquor without a licence.
They were bailed and are expected to appear in the Honiara Magistrates Court on 15 January 2009.
Police were impressed with the cooperation of the community when executing the search warrants.
