SIAWA President, Tongoua Tabe, revealed that the trainer, said to be from Georgia in the United States of America, should be in the country for two months to train local wrestlers and support the re-establishment of new provincial wrestling associations.
Solomon Times was informed that the trainer should arrive in Solomon Islands by second week of March.
Mr. Tabe said the Georgian trainer was nominated by the international wrestlers governing body, FILA, to come to Solomon Islands and assist SIAWA with their training this year.
SIAWA's President Tabe said the presence of a qualified trainer will be a great opportunity for the newly elected Sports Development Officer for wrestling, Katea Ueresi, to learn from him while at the same time help revive wrestling back in the country.
The visit of the Georgina trainer will be the first ever for SIAWA to receive help from abroad.
"We are working on developing wrestling to a far better standard but due to lack of financial aid, the progress is slow," Mr. Tabe said.
He said that this however moves them to work and train harder to reach new heights.

The Solomon Islands Amateur Wrestling Association will have a new trainer come next month.
