Team leader of HCC Congress team Mr. Joseph Huta was pleased with the turn-out, as he stated that the team had invited over 100 people for the Feedback meeting, with about 50 participants attending.
He said that besides the attendance, participation and discussions were very good, and that the team expects more people to participate in discussions.
"Though the first day had rather a slow start, it's always expected of the first day of any meeting," said Mr. Huta, "However we hope to finish the feedback on this whole document by Friday this week."
Although the team is faced with this very strict timeline to complete the Feedback task, it has been a long-awaited undertaking since April 2010. This meeting was postponed twice earlier this year due to Government financial constraints. Thus when members of the team met, they agreed that after the August National Elections, the feedback should proceed then.
Congress Chairlady and member of the HCC Congress team Mrs. Jenny Tuhaika chaired the meeting today, and the team also had technical assistance from Constitutional Reform Unit's (CRU) Consultant Lawyer Mr. Reginald Teutao.
