Guadalcanal Premier Stephen Panga says reports on the Doma Development Project and a Pre-Feasibility Study estimated that the project would cost around USD$105 million.
Unlike the country's eight other provinces, Guadalcanal, which hosts the national capital, does not have a provincial centre of its own.
In handing over the reports to Prime Minister Danny Philip this week, the premier said Guadalcanal needs a town of its own and all the necessities that come with it.
Mr Panga says his province needs its own centre, apart from the national capital, Honiara.
