The communities are advised to quickly move to safer areas.
Various communities in and around Honiara as well as Foxwood areas have called the National Disaster Management Office to report damages.
These reports, however, were not very specific about what had been damaged.
The Honiara City Council has deployed an assessment team late this afternoon to assess the communities in the Burns Creek area, according to a source from the Council.
A check around the country by the Solomon Islands Red Cross and NDMO today revealed that the bad weather has affected the country.
The continuous heavy rains are believed to be related to a La Nina, which the Solomon Islands Meteorological Services has predicted will cause above normal rainfall this year.
