Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, the Minister for Commerce, Employment and Tourism, Peter Shanel, said the computers will be beneficial for the nine provinces in efforts of developing the rural.
Mr. Shanel stressed that there is no use preaching on a policy without putting it into action.
He added that the computer sets, valued at a total of SBD$339,140.00, is "a token of support" to the provinces from the national government.
Mr. Shanel pledged that women's organisations will also be receiving some computers at a later date as "trusted assistance from the Ministry".
Speaking at the hand-over, Minister for Commerce in Temotu Province, Hon. Noel Kem'ano, thanked the national government on behalf of the nine provinces.
He said that what has taken place for the provinces is a great privilege in terms of development taking place in the rural.
"It is time to see provinces advance, enabling development to take place throughout Solomon Islands in partnership with the national government," Hon. Kem'ano said.
Among guests at the hand-over were Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, provincial government representatives and other ministerial representatives.

The Ministry of Commerce, Employment and Tourism yesterday handed over computer sets to the nine provincial headquarters in Solomon Islands.
