Secretary to the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Dr Roughan, was speaking during a joint consultation meeting between members of the forum task force review, RAMSI and the national government last week.
Dr Roughan reiterated that the government is of the view that such an approach will greatly assist with fundamental issues such as a timeframe for the completion of certain tasks carried out by the mission, as well as an exit strategy for RAMSI.
The government is optimistic that with the collective efforts of the Pacific Islands Forum members, RAMSI and the Solomon Islands government, the goals and objectives pursued through RAMSI will be achieved. Roughan maintained that the activities and functions of RAMSI should flow within the Solomon Islands constitution.
