The workshop, for this week, targets senior government officials responsible for leading and managing integrity investigations at the respective work places.

This is the first ever Major Investigation Management Workshop for the Solomon Islands Law Enforcement community that aims to enhance senior investigator's skills in managing major crime operations and to provide reports to their superiors.

The objective of the training is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively lead and manage integrity investigations and to identify emerging issues within an integrity environment which will develop senior investigators into crime managers.

This program has been running since 2004 but has only been delivered in other parts of the region such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Vanuatu and now the Solomon Islands.

The workshop is attended by senior investigators and representatives from various government agencies which include the: Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources;
Correctional Services; Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs; Inland Revenue Division; Office of the Ombudsman; Leadership Code Commission; Director of Public Prosecutions; Ministry of Forests; Public Service Commission; Immigrations; RAMSI PPF and RSIPF.

Apart from the technical aspects of the program curriculum, one of the main benefits of course was the significant networking opportunity which will bring about a greater co-operation between agencies in the law enforcement community.
