Responding to information relayed by members of the public, officers searched a residential compound at Ranadi during which two people were arrested.
The officers also discovered a substantial amount of kwaso and equipment used for the production of kwaso at the location. The items were seized and are currently stored in police custody as exhibits.
Both suspects were conveyed to Honiara City Station where they were charged before they were granted principle bail of $1,000.00 each.
The young Chinese woman was charged with assisting in the illegal production of kwaso while the 39 year old man from Central Kwara'ae was charged with 'Restriction on Making Liquor'.
Both offenders are expected to appear at the Magistrate's Courts on 14 September 2009.

Female Chinese Arrested for Kwaso
Officers from the Honiara City Police Liquor Licensing Squad have arrested a 23 year old Chinese woman and a 39 year old man from Taka'oto Village in Central Kwara'ae for allegedly producing kwaso on 28 August 2009.
