The funding will aim to address issues of Human Rights and Democracy, and to contribute to strengthen participation of Civil Society groups to national development of Solomon Islands.
At the launch today, four winning organisations out of thirty-eight applicants signed a grant contract of about $4 million dollars in various project funding.
The organisations include the Secretariat of the Pacific Community SPC, Live and Learn Solomon Islands, Solomon Islands National Union of Workers and the Solomon Islands National Council of Women.
European Union Charge' d Affairs in Solomon Islands, Dr Abdoul Aziz Mbaye says women are very important in the development of the country.
He says the project funding is part of European Union's continued assistance in strengthening democracy and peace in Solomon Islands.
