Mr Wale last week visited nine schools, five from Western province and four from Choiseul province.
Radio Happy Lagoon reports schools visited include Gizo, Titiana and Ngari in Gizo and Koloko and Eleoteve on Vella La Vella, and Zuqunu, Sasamungga, Salakana and Taro in Choiseul.
It says the Government and UNICEF are embarking on rehabilitating schools which have been badly affected during the 2007 April earthquake and tsunami disaster.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Happy Lagoon, Minister Wale says the C-NURA government has placed strong emphasis on basic multi-education of which the fee free basic education policy is part of.
He says the governments intention is to provide basic education to all the children in Solomon Islands.
Wale says the fee free basic education policy tries to remove the obstacles or burdens experienced on paying school fees.
While admitting that spaces available in schools throughout the country are not enough, the Minister calls on stakeholders in the education sector to work together and find a solution.

The Minister of Education and Human Resources Development Mathew Wale has seen for himself the progress development of the schools rehabilitation program in Western and Choiseul provinces.
