The touring team that left this morning includes NDMO Director, Loti Yates, their advisor, Eric Ani, Senior Programs Officer, Julian Maka'a, the Provincial Coordinator for Malaita Province, Pearson Simi, the Provincial Coordinator for Central Province, Brian Tom and the Provincial Coordinator for Rennell-Bellona Province, McQueen Bahenua.
Speaking to Solomon Times, Ruth Nuboa of the Disaster office said that the team while in Buala the team will conduct high level advocacy consultations with the people.
Mrs. Nuboa said that the main aim of the consultation is to bring awareness to people in the rural area on what to do when disaster strikes. The team will also meet with different heads of divisions in Buala along with two local church representatives.
Mrs. Nuboa said that another objective of the team's visit is to embark on the possibility of setting up a provincial disaster office in Isabel. "This is so people in the province will have an office to run to for help in the event when disaster strikes."
Meetings conducted in Buala will be similar to those carried out in Rennell-Bellona last week.
The team will be in Buala all week and will return to Honiara Monday next week.

Six officers of the National Disaster Management Office, NDMO, are currently in Buala of Isabel Province on tour.
