Deputy Prime Minister, Manasseh Maelanga is expected to lodge the bid on behalf of Solomon Islands to host next year's meeting at the current Forum Leaders meeting in Cook Islands.
Mr Maelanga led the government delegation in the absence of the Prime Minister, who chose to stay home, to attend to domestic issues.
Speaking to the local media upon his arrival over the weekend Mr Lilo confirms that he had delegated his deputy to lodge the bid.
Mr Lilo believes it will be a success for the country to host the Forum Leader's meeting next year, especially to coincide with the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands 10th anniversary.
Solomon Islands last hosted the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders meeting 20 years ago.

The Solomon Islands will be lodging it's bid in Rarotonga, Cook Islands to host the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders meeting in 2013.
