The incident was quickly reported to the Honiara City Police by the mother of the four month old baby.
A quick response by police resulted in the immediate arrest of the suspect.
The 50 year old is in police custody and charges are expected to be laid soon.
Baby Defile by Step Father
Detectives from the Sexual Assault Unit have arrested a 50 year man in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a four month old baby at Lunga area Sunday morning.
