On Saturday, club members packed a container with desks, tables and chairs from the old TAFE building on the corner of Ellenborough and Limestone Sts.
"They contacted us to see if we could put the old furniture to good use," club past president Russell Bentley said. "We heard about the Auki Primary School fire in the Solomon Islands where 450 kids were affected.
"Through Rotary's Donations In Kind, we were able to arrange for a container to be delivered. Club members are pleased to be able to put their efforts into ensuring the surplus furniture is matched with a worthy recipient."
"Congratulations to Bremer TAFE for putting the surplus furniture to good use and seeing a club like Booval Rotary as the means for making it happen. This is what Rotary is about."
