The court heard that on October 16, 2010, Sainimere Tuinasakea was drinking with a group of friends in Islanders nightclub, when she approached Wesley Garope for a dance.
The two were dancing when an argument broke out and in the process she allegedly grabbed an empty beer bottle and smashed it against Garope's head.
He sustained head injuries and reported the matter to police. Tuinasakea was arrested and charged later that night.
She appeared before Magistrate Makereta Mua at the Suva magistrate's court today.
No plea was taken and magistrate Mua ordered that she be given time to seek legal assistance.
