Last week, the Hon Pat Conroy MP, Minister for Defence Industry and Minister for International Development and the Pacific, saw APTC’s training in action when he opened the APTC training rooms at the Kwaimani Building in Honiara.
Minister Conroy also met with approximately 25 Solomon Islanders who were undertaking ‘Introduction to Meatworks’ training prior to deploying to Australia under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme (PALM) scheme.
Over 17,000 Pacific Island citizens have graduated with Australian qualifications from APTC’s campuses, including over 2,100 Solomon Islanders, 44% of whom are women.
APTC is Australia’s flagship investment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the Pacific region.
