The ANZ Banking Corporation recently introduced a micro-finance scheme through its mobile banking operation.

This scheme allows ANZ rural savers to access small loans to purchase household items such as solar kits, stoves, pay for school fees and fund village business ventures.

Team Leader of ANZ's mobile banking branch Mr Peter Isaac says that "our rural people will finally have access to credit, already the first loan has approved"

Madeline Mae was thrilled to learn that she would be the first recipient of an ANZ Micro Finance loan.

"I have been trying to start up a canteen for my small family" Mrs Mae said. "I am finally able to start something, and am committed to make it grow"

Mrs Mae says they have worked very hard for their canteen and this small loan will go a long way in assisting her family.
